Puncture Repairs
Punctures .. you’d be amazed at some of the things we’ve removed from tyres - like a whole screwdriver for example! You can leave the wheel with us for collection at another time or, you are welcome to wait with a free cup of tea or coffee.
We are governed by British Standards for the repair of punctures but, rest assured if a tyres worth fixing … we will fix it!! Our preferred method is to bore out and properly fix the puncture with plug and patch combis, as opposed to stick on patches.
The image below will help give you an idea in advance, whether your puncture can be repaired or not, but remember, a repair might not actually be the cheapest option. If the tread depth is low, you may feel the cost of the repair is greater than the value of the remaining tread depth.
Other problems that could deem the tyre unrepairable include:
- the size of the area to be repaired
- the position of previous repairs
- run-flat damage or secondary damage
- exposed cords or bead damage
